“I never thought it was worth it, you know waiting for your love, and then I felt your kiss, I could wait forever for this”
I thought this quote was pretty neat... you know you can find your own meaning. It is all about anticipation. Whether it be a New Year, new clothes, new shoes, a new book, or the comfort of a loved ones kiss... the waiting is what makes "the kiss" special!
Our kiss for the New Year, the year 2010 will be when after waiting for the past 7 months, our turn is finally here. Papa Bear, our "kiss" if you will, starts to come over the hills and through the woods for Rest and Relaxation!
Excited doesn't begin to describe our emotions. The children start their negotiation tactics. "I will go to school one day, then get the next 3 off so I can spend it with Dad!" or "I am sure that Dad will want to play Xbox so we will have to get that new hard drive, and he will probably need to play that game I was telling you about so he can keep sharp on his shooting"!
Like I am so dense that I forgot over the past 7 months that Kiah can't stay awake when horizontal, for more than 27 minutes! Nice try kiddies!
Hugs... my Kiah gives the BEST hugs. Not sure if that is why his guys started calling him Papa Bear, but there has never been a better hug. He just allows himself to absorb you in his arms.
I get butterflies every time I think of him being home. I always have butterflies when it comes to thinking of Kiah. I get that little flutter when he comes home from a field problem, returns from deployment, or even when he's gone skiing and flies down the slope with pink cheeks under his goggles and has that big breathless grin!
The kids feel them too! That excitement that is uncontainable! I can't imagine being a child and anticipating the return of a parent. The emotional roller coaster of trying to be a big kid, but wanting desperately to jump into daddy's arms and be wrapped up in his protection and unending love. Oh what a feeling!
The next few days will be of cleaning, and prepping for school to start so that when Papa Bear arrives we can enjoy his every "kiss" or every moment with him. Rest assured my fellow wino's that we will try some new bottles of red and I will share our thoughts with you. However, priority will be on the kids, quiet time and enjoying each others company.
If you need a bottle for your New Year's festivities.. try an Italian Prosecco. It's less expensive than most Champagnes, still has all the fizz, it is usually a very delicious dry wine, but.. if you don't like it, you can always take the leftover, add some lemon vodka, ice cubes and lemon sorbet to make a delicious lemon drink.
We will bring in our New Year at Yoshi's enjoying friendship, and experiencing new food and customs. We are blessed by the abundance of love we have in our life and we hope that the New Year shows you the same kindness that God has always graced us with.
Many Blessing to you for a Safe and Prosperous New Year!
